Ye’s Emotional Confession: Reflecting on Regrets and Mental Health Struggles

In a moment of unexpected sadness captured during a street style interview, Kanye West, now going by Ye, shook his head thoughtfully and quietly admitted his biggest regret: ‘Life.’

The 48-year-old rapper, artist, and fashion designer delivered this speech quietly, but it has since sparked great interest on social media and reignited concerns about his emotional state.

The exchange was shared on TikTok by Mystery Fashionist. In the video, the interviewer, introducing himself as ‘Ajay,’ asked Ye to rate his outfit.

Sporting a striking look complemented by his original Yeezy 950 boots, Ye confidently replied: ’10 out of 10.’ However, when questioned about the fashion trend he regrets the most, Ye became introspective, lowered his gaze, and simply said: ‘Life.’

The emotional weight of this single word deeply moved viewers. Many fans noticed Ye appearing more reserved than usual, his usual bravado giving way to a subtle seriousness. Some expressed concern that it was not a metaphorical comment, but a genuine moment of existential despair.

Ye Reflects on Other Regrets in His Life

This is not the first time Ye has publicly opened up about his regrets and internal turmoil. In a more in-depth interview with DJ Akademiks in March, he spoke about his past relationship with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, stating:

‘I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months being together, but that wasn’t God’s plan.’

He also expressed frustration over not having full control over his children’s name and image, saying:

‘I don’t own the rights to my children’s name and image, or at least not equal rights. So, this white woman and her white family have control over these very influential black children, who are half of Ye’s kids.’

This conversation followed previous troubling revelations: Ye had admitted to contemplating suicide. He has spoken openly about his bipolar disorder diagnosis, though in 2025, he revealed being diagnosed with autism and having stopped taking psychiatric medication.

To explain some of his past behaviors, Ye attributed them to his mental health issues, stating: ‘I was suffering from various bipolar issues which made me push my ideas to the extreme.’

He apologized for his previous antisemitic remarks, attributing much of his erratic behavior to the mental instability he was experiencing.
